Thelander Family Scholarship

This scholarship will not open for application in 2025.

In 2023, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø will offer one Thelander Family Scholarship to support a student commencing their studies in the Bachelor of Theatre, or Bachelor of Visual Arts.

As friends of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and supporters of the performing and visual arts, the Thelander family has set up a scholarship to help future ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø students in the pursuit of their academic endeavours. This scholarship will be awarded to a performing or visual art undergraduate.

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $12 000 paid over three years.

Applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or permanent humanitarian visa holder
  • be commencing their studies at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø in the Bachelor of Theatre, or Bachelor of Visual Arts in Study Period 1 2023 (e.g., Semester 1 2023)
  • be enrolled in a minimum of 6 study units across each academic year, for the duration of the scholarship as follows: 
    • minimum 3 study units in Study Period 1 (e.g., Semester 1); and 
    • minimum 3 study units across the remaining study periods (e.g., Semesters 2 and 3
  • be enrolled on-campus at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Toowoomba.

As this is a commencing student scholarship, applicants are not required to have accepted/be enrolled at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø at time of application.

Applicants must:

  • submit a personal statement (500 words maximum) outlining:
    • what influenced and motivated you to choose your intended study program at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø
    • how do you see yourself as a future professional within your field.
    • your involvement (past and current) within your school, school arts program, extracurricular activities or within your local community.
  • provide evidence to support claims made in your personal statement of your involvement within your school, school arts program, extracurricular activities or within your local community.

Please Note: If an applicant holds other ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
